Alex knows what's working in our community — and what isn't. From fixing healthcare and housing to protecting farmland and lowering costs, he’s ready to deliver real solutions. Here's how he'll get it done -

Healthcare in Ontario

Healthcare is a fundamental right. We are committed to ensuring that every person in Ontario has access to a family doctor by the end of our first term. Leaked data from the Ministry of Health in Ontario paints a rough picture.

Approximately 1 in 2 people in Wellington-Halton Hills either don’t have access to a family doctor or are imminently at risk of losing their family doctor due to retirement.
Here’s our plan for health in Ontario:

Educate, attract and retain
thousands of new domestic and internationally trained family doctors.

Improve the Ontario Health Team network, using it to massively expand access to family doctors practicing in teams close to your home within four years.

Modernize family medicine, put an end to fax machines once and for all, and make appointments available on evenings and weekends.

Stop penalizing patients and doctors if they seek care at walk-in clinics.

Housing

The kids in Ontario can’t afford homes in the communities they grew up in, seniors can’t downsize, and everyday working people in places like Fergus, Erin and Georgetown can’t afford a home. It’s about time we get a government that treats the Housing crisis for what it really is - a crisis.

If elected, here’s what we’d do:

Eliminating the provincial Land Transfer Tax for first-time homebuyers, seniors downsizing, and non-profit home builders—saving families and seniors on average over $13,000 off the cost of a new home.

Scrapping Development Charges on new middle-class housing, which can add up to $170,000 on the price of a new home, and replacing them with the Better Communities Fund to ensure that the province invests in and benefits from sustainable municipal growth.

Making renting more affordable by introducing fair, phased-in rent control similar to Manitoba, resolving Landlord-Tenant Board disputes within two months, and establishing the Rental Emergency Support for Tenants (REST) Fund to help vulnerable renters avoid eviction during financial emergencies.

This plan will save folks in our region up to $170,000 on the cost of a new home, make rent more affordable, and get more homes and communities built by cutting the taxes that are making homes more expensive.

Affordability

Everything is getting more expensive and it seems like we just can’t catch a break. That’s why if elected, we’ll give some permanent relief to folks in our region, not cheap gimmicks.

Cut the income tax rate for middle-class Ontario families. Eliminate sales tax (HST) on home heating and hydro bills.
Cut the small business tax rate by half.

These tax cuts would save a middle-class family in our region approximately $1,150 every year. All the while giving a helping hand to our local businesses.

Save Ontario’s Farmland

Ontario is losing 319 acres of farmland every day—enough to produce millions of essential food items like carrots, strawberries, apples, and even turkey dinners.

We need to act now to protect our farmlands for future generations and ensure Ontario remains a strong agricultural province.

Alex will work with local municipalities, agricultural organizations and farmers to support and protect their activities.

Greenbelt

Our provincially significant wetlands and biodiversity must be protected not only for their own sake but to prevent flood events and for clean water.

Bonnie Crombie has stated her support for preserving the Greenbelt in the past. If elected, Alex will fight for continued protections and to prevent land swaps.

Community Safety

Crime has gone up over recent years making some worry for their safety.

Bonnie Crombie has said she will invest in police, advocate for stricter bail reform, get our courts working again and provide supports for those facing mental health and addiction issues.

Mental Health Care and Addictions services

Over one million people in Ontario report experiencing mental health or addiction issues annually.

An Ontario Provincial Liberal government will fund accessible mental health services for children, youth and teenagers through all new primary care clinics under a team-based delivery model such as Community Health Centres or Family Health Teams.

Beyond this, Alex will advocate for better support of co-occuring disorders (such as mental health and substance use disorders) so that treatment can take place at one time and be more effective.
